What is Rubber Soft fall ?

Rubber softfall is a generic name for the installation of granulated rubber, fixed together in a layer. It has various applications, most commonly used for surfacing for pedestrian areas. It is often combined with a second layer of rubber called an impact layer, installed underneath the 'top coat' to create a flexible cushioned surface. Its most common application is for childcare centres, playgrounds and schools. The impact layer is made from recycled rubber car tyres. Its thickness can vary to suit the fall height (Free Height of Fall) for childrens play areas. The softfall does need to be installed on a compacted sub-base, usually roadbased or concrete, often specified as 100mm in thickness.

Above shows the finished top coat, a mix of two of our green colours and beige mixed together. the Top Coat is usually specified as 10 - 15 mm thick. The impact layer is shown as the black shredded base, bonded together. Once dry the topcoat can be trowelled over the top. Depending on the level of impact required or the Free Height of Fall (FHoF) the base layer can be 25 - 85mm in thickness. THe range of softfall rubber thickness is 40mm to 100mm if a setdown is needed int eh substrate.

 What is synthetic grass ?

Our synthetic grass & lawns are made of high-quality, sturdy materials for areas of high traffic.

The industry standard for many years was 19mm Landscape Grass, which is still a long-wearing budget alternative to a coloured rubber surface. Synthetic grass is a great alternative for high-traffic areas or shaded locations where real turf just won’t grow. With the addition of a soft fall underlay, our synthetic lawn in Sydney is certified for compliance with Australian Standards for playground safety.
